Sandblast & Spray Painting
Sandblast
& Spray Painting
Painting steel surfaces requires meeting a standard preparation specification referred to as the “SP” Surface Preparation number generated by the SSPC Association. Common surface prep specs used are: SP1 Hand tooled clean, SP5 Brush Blast, SP6 Commercial Blast, and in cases such as water emergence SP10 Near White blast.
Pro Coat adheres to the specifications and utilizes several QC testing procedures for sand blasting jobs, such as: ASTM – D4417 and NACE – SP287. Using the Textex Tape method, we replicate the surface profile and then measure the actual profile depth with a micrometer.
Matching the surface prep requirements to the coating’s application at hand is critical to turning out a quality, long-lasting job.
