NASA constructed an all new building on Wallops Island, Virginia for the purpose of final assembly of space flight rockets. The HIF Building (Horizontal Integration Facility) is the site where final assembly of the Anteres Rockets occurs. Anteres rocket launches transports supplies to the International Space Station.
The construction specifications required a one hour fire rating coating supplied by ALBI Company. Adhesion testing was conducted by both Pro Coat and the manufacturer’s tech services representative to insure adhesion and compatibility to the existing substrate. Pro Coat prepped and primed all steel structure surfaces and then applied ALBI TC Clad at over 120 mil thickness. Testing for DFT (dry film thickness) was conducted directly by both NASA and Pro Coat personnel Pro Coat DFT test devises.
